Foundation for Ocular Research & Surgical Eye Expeditions (FORSEE) Schulich Chapter
About Us
Welcome to FORSEE (Foundation for Ocular Research & Surgical Eye Expeditions), the Schulich student chapter of FORSEE Canada, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving ocular health through vision screening missions, global outreach, and ophthalmology education. Locally, we have conducted 17 vision screening missions, treated 272 patients, and involved 153 volunteers, while globally, we have led three surgical missions in Kenya, training five local ophthalmologists and performing over 100 life-changing eye surgeries. Our initiatives include organizing free vision screenings for underserved communities, supporting international eye care through training and surgical outreach, hosting educational sessions with ophthalmologists and vision care experts, creating engaging social media content to raise awareness about ocular health, and advocating for policy changes to enhance access to ophthalmic care. FORSEE is open to all Schulich medical students interested in ophthalmology, global health, or community engagement, offering hands-on experience, outreach opportunities, and connections with leaders in the field. Join us in restoring sight and transforming lives!
