Increasing Medical Students Access to Therapy

About Us

IMSAT is a student-run initiative committed to improving both access to therapy and therapeutic literacy among medical students. We aim to: 1. Facilitate access to free or low-cost mental health supports, both within the university system and the broader community. 2. Educate students on evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, ACT, psychodynamic, EMDR), so they may better care for themselves and understand what may benefit future patients. 3. Foster a culture of openness around mental health by normalizing help-seeking behavior and reducing stigma through peer-driven initiatives. 4. Advocate for structural improvements in mental health support services available to medical trainees.
